Bad gripper spring, need a quick fix! »

This is my first post and I’m not much on the internet. However, I have been registered with Vanderblog for awhile and have appreciated all questions and comments as I have been getting my SP15 up and going . I bought it a few years ago from a then acquaintance and now friend. I had no place for it at the time, but have just finished renovating an old two-story garage into a print shop / studio with it being the centre-piece for the print shop. Anyway, the other day I finally got it going and the first job was my annual Christmas card from a block which I cut. I am very fortunate in that the press is in very very good to excellent condition with only a couple of issues that are a result of it not being used for several years. The biggest problem is myself and my lack of experience with it. However, thanks to this website I have learned a great deal and have been able to stumble along with getting things up and going. I am located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada and may have the only SP15 in the province. I don’t know. I would be interested in hearing from others in the area if there are any….or from beyond for that matter. Thanks for everything so far. I appreciate your efforts……cheers….David Brewer (email is dbrewer@stu.ca)

David, please see the Vandercook census for other vandy owners in New Brunswick. You’ll find an SP20 at Mount Allison University in Sackville and Thaddeus Holownia in Jolicure has two 219s. The closest SP15s may be in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
