   Another thought on the gripper issue: the cam on the bed could be misaligned. On the vertical piece that attaches to the cabinet the screw holes are actually elongated slots. The screws can be loosened and the cam moved toward the feed board to accommodate the roller.

   Please be more specific. Do you mean that the carriage stops short? If so then the trip arms (X-22753/X-22753), inside the carriage side plates may be contacting the white trip rollers (x-21191) on the side of the bed, but the are not moving back. This needs to happen in order to shift the cylinder into trip mode. See sheet 287-A of the manual. (Another, but unlikely possibility is that a replacement bumper spring is too long.)

   The grippers are not releasing because the trip roller (X-12233) that is attached to the gripper trip lever (X-21020) on the backside of the carriage has stopped short of the cam (X-26790). The roller should run outward on the camp, which would push the top of the gripper trip lever inward. This moves the cam shaft toward the operator. These cams open the gripper pins. See Sheet 288-B.
