I’ve recently started up a community workshop in Traverse City, MI – Blackbird Book Arts & Press. We’re getting off the ground with a Pilot clone, 8×12 C&P and this slightly ragged SP15. It came to us out of Indiana without rollers, feed board and brackets to mount it so with a little ingenuity and woodworking skills it has been made functional once again and prints pretty well for a galley height press.
The new feed board assembly/shelving is attached to the frame of the press on the gripper end of things and the top piece of plywood was shimmed slightly with some cedar shakes so that the piece of flat iron stock would taper toward the grippers. The side guide was cobbled together using an inexpensive marking gauge found at a woodworking store and made nice with a bit or fancy rosewood. Adequate for most needs.
I think the pictures will speak for themselves but if you have any further questions I’ll try to answer.
