We recently rescued a Challenge 15GP proof press at the San Jose Printers’ Guild. We already have one that was surplus from the art department at San Jose State last year. It came with rollers that were too long and rested on the rails, so I cut them back to just under 15″ long, since the bed is 15.25″ wide. I just ordered new rollers for the new press from Advanced Roller. I sent them the cores that came with the new press, and asked them to make all of the rollers 15″ long. Instead they made the two form rollers 16″ long. I have to assume they are working from some existing sepcifications for this press, which I don’t have, but the rollers should not rest on the rails, right?

Correct, the rubber should not rest on the bed bearers [rail].
