Hello,
We need to replace a worn chain on one of our UNIVERSAL 1, #21175, 1961
The chain has stretched and is now rattling along the inner shelf of the press.
I have used shims in the motor mount in the past to take up some of the slack, but I would like to find a source for a replacement chain.
Do you know the specs for the chain?
Thank you,
Gunars
Similar. The roller pitch is the same, but the length may differ. The SP20 has two sprockets, while some Universal I’s have five sprockets.
I am having a similar problem on our SP20, would the chain specs for that model be the same?
Hello Paul,
This is a big, big help.
I really could not find the chain specs for the Uni 1 anywhere.
Thank you,
Gunars
The Vandercook part number for the chain is X-14683. NA Graphics may have a replacement. If not, Most Vandercook drive chains have 0.500″ pitch and 0.250″ roller width and may be stamped with “41” the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) number. This information can be used to source a new chain.
