The top rollers fell on my hand while I was cleaning the rollers the other day because the lever latch (image below) that holds them the oscillator in place when up is loose and does not always click in place. Could someone advise how I go about stabilizing it? Many thanks!

Thanks, Ernst! I will try that.
a friend solved this problem by putting a thin piece of spring steel on top of the latch and screwed it to the gear cover. it works fine.
Thanks, Paul. Luckily only part of my hand sustained impact and it’s not so bad. The lock ring and nut is tight but the latch was indeed poorly designed since it won’t stay locked down tightly. The latch will hit the bottom but then pull up a little every time the oscillator arm moves. I’ll continue to try to figure out a good long term solution based on your advice. Many thanks!
Celia, I hope that you weren’t badly hurt. Your photo indicates, and previous posts confirm, that we’re discussing an SP15. The frame latch, not the lever, was poorly designed. The screw that on which that latch swings has a lock ring and a nut. From the outside, you can try to tighten the nut with a wrench while holding the stud with a screwdriver.
People have used various means to stabilize the latch and oscillator arm from holding the oscillator fram with the left hand to rigging a hook to the frame to temporarily wedging a screwdriver against the latch or the frame.
