SP20 Ink Drum/Form Roller Contact Issues

Hello, we recently acquired a refurbished Vandy SP20 at UT Austin and it is having issues. The worst problem we’re having is the form rollers not making contact with the ink drum. We bought two new springs from Fritz for the ink drum and replaced those, so I think that is at the proper height. When the form rollers are all the way at their lowest point, they still don’t fully contact the ink drum AND they are way too low for proper type high inking. Could the form rollers be the wrong ones/wrong circumference?

did you talk to the seller yet, if the press is refurbished it should print. roller diameter is 3 inch. new springs help to get the ink drum up, but did you check the adjusting screw. look at the picture i attached. before you turn the allen screw on top loosen the set screw in the round block. another reason could be your chain to the motor has no slack and pulls the ink drum down. sometimes the whole mechanism that holds the ink drum gets stuck, press the ink drum down first one side than the other and watch if it comes up.put a drop of oil there.
