Bunting Base(s) and Uni III

Hi –

We have a MB 811 Bunting base and looking at alternatives to get a larger form for posters, Etc.

Has anyone purchased a custom built base to accommodate such endeavours?

We have not priced the alternatives, but we are wondering if this is a good approach or if one should acquire a few bases to use as one. Our concern with the later approach is that we are thinking that the Bunting Pin Registration option looks appealing. We have not seen the Pin system in person, and the website does not really give much information.

Pointers?? Feedback??

Thanks!

My mistake, MB811, not MB11. Just a further note, Bunting raises its pricing 5% every year on January 1st. Don’t know why, but they do. Might as well buy gold bullion.

Bunting Bases have a tolerance of not more than .001 so they can be ganged without significant concern. I have four MB11s in my Universal III and two in my SP15. If there is a slight problem a underlay of tissue will suffice.

Bunting will make custom sizes and they cost about as much per square inch as the MB11. Though you are likely better off ganging as Bunting doesn’t recommend any base exceed the 8 by 11 size (for guaranteed tolerance) and they don’t recommend underlays as a matter of practice.

Pin registration is only going to be of use to you if you run standardized forms, and a lot of them.

I’m a rep and distributor for them and I go by what they tell me. They’ve been around since 1959 and know the business.
