I have tried to find a similar ball bearing on the open market. The closest size I can find fits all measurements except that the screw that goes through the side of the press (held by a nut on the outside of the press) is 2mm bigger. I would need to drill a bigger hole into the side of the press. Should I do this or keep looking for Vandercook “0” bearings? I need to get the press back into use for public projects.
Okay. I will check this option out. Sounds good. I really appreciate your advice and I will report back with the results.

Take the The new bearing to a machine shop and see if they can correct or replace the screw. Bring one of the originals too for reference.
