I am trying to find out if this winged bolt is original or if this was a previous fix. Currently, it’s hitting the frame of the base, causing it to self-loosen.
The original screw is a 5/16-18 × 1″ squarehead. I recommend a sockethead because it is easer to tighten at that length.
If you prefer a wingnut, the shank would need to be 2″ long for a hand to clear the top frame of the compartment.
