Hello,
Does anyone know the name and/or the Vandercook part number for the steel ‘post’ that is bolted onto the rider roller assembly and couples to a spring-loaded bolt mounted on the press carriage? The spring-loaded bolt pushes into the ‘post’ and acts as a latch when the rollers are raised.
The bolt has worn down from use, and the rider roller assembly can slip out and fall.
Thank you,
Gunars

Hello Paul,
Thank you for the information on the ‘eccentric trip stud’.
I also like the idea of adding a 1/4″ collar to the stud. One of our presses has a collar, and it keeps the form rollers from resting on the rollers when the press is not in use.
I just did not know what to call the collar or what the size would be.
Thank you again,
Gunars
The part number is X-17438 Eccentric trip stud.
You may be able to improve the contact with the X-14578 Spring Plunger by loosening the 9/16″ nut on the end on the outside of the carriage side plate, then turning the spring plunger inward. Test the contact, then retighten the nut.
On a related note. There’s a pin rest for the oscillator frame for when the roller are tripped. If the the oscillator still contacts the the rubber, slip a 1/4″ shaft collar over the pin.
