My friend Lee and I printed on the Challenge 15MP at BAD today. It was for a job, but I used it as an excuse to get a second opinion on the press and to try to troubleshoot some things. The press has some relatively new rollers on it, that were certainly made badly, which is part of the issue. But the rest is a mystery to both of us.
If you take a roller height measurement at the very beginning of the bed, the rollers are much lower than they are at the middle of the bed, 1/16″ at least. I do not think the bed is the culprit. We were getting a consistent impression throughout the printing process. Could it be that the cylinder bearers are not level? Does anyone else have any advice?
We will get new rollers soon and check again.
