Asking for some help! We are having issues with our gripper on our Vandercook SP-20 (serial number: 23442). The grippers were getting lower and lower and now do not really raise at all. The foot pedal was also pretty low to the floor, with us having to press harder on it for the grippers to open.
Tightened the bolt holding the foot pedal in place so that we can actually sort of press down on it again but now the pedal doesn’t come back up after being depressed.
Gripper stems were recently cleaned and grippers themselves move freely. The gripper cams are pretty gross and dirty and they aren’t making contact with the gripper stems… or at least not enough contact to raise them. Not sure how to get into the cylinder to clean the gripper cams. I’ve tried turning the gripper cams a bit… it did nothing.
Ordering a manual from Fritz. Saw some SP-15 people talking about turning the yoke but I’m not sure if that applies here.
