Vandercook 4 Blunder

Hi all – I’m in the last stages of cleaning up my Vandercook and I did what I told myself I never would. I ended up with 4 bolts and 8 washers that I cannot for the life of me figure out where they go. I’ve looked over the press and also the schematics and am stumped. Does anyone out there have an idea of where these could go? What have I overlooked? Super embarrassed after how careful I was but here we are.

I think they are too short but maybe the motor support?

Not to be pendantic, but 1/4 diameter are either 20 or 28 threads per inch. I’m on the road and won’t see a No. 4 untill I return home in a couple days. Meanwhile just look for empty threaded holes.

These appear to be 5/16-24 × 1″ hex head bolts. The most likely place you would encounter them on is the form roller bearing bars. The form roller cores won’t stay in place without them. See manual Sheets 103 and 183.

See manual Sheet106 for other places that you can these bolts, though the spec is no called out:
– on the the carriage at the frame that supports the roller frame and the oscillator
– bumper plates
– trip rack cover plate
