I will be bringing a Universal I from its long exile in Florida back to its land of origin, Illinois. Any suggestions on prepping it for the move other than securing the cylinder so it doesn’t roll?
Thanks, Rob

Rob-
Just had to comment, because I looked for a Vandercook forever down here in Florida and couldn’t find one. Eventually I found a Uni I, which I bought and moved from – North Dakota! It’s amazing the lengths we go through to add one of these to our shops. Mine arrived safely with the parts Paul outlined above removed & secured. It was crated and shipped freight to my home, where I had riggers set in in the house. It’s a great press, enjoy :)

Congratulations, Rob. Remove the crank handle, form rollers, oscillator and rider, and feed board. Secure the oscillator frame, too.
