Does anyone know the original O.D. of the bearing that engages the Roller clutch plate? I’m thinking the one I have is very worn and not engaging the clutch plate. It does look like the wedge on the press has already been spaced out about an 1/8th inch. I could space it out more. but if i could source a bearing that’s larger I think that would be a better fix. If anyone has one please let me know. thanks

It’s been a long time and the press this repair was for has since found a new home.
I believe what I did was just add a couple 2 pt. lead shims behind the wedge on the press that activates the cam roller. I also got new clutch pins for the press. but it still had to be shimmed. Good luck with your fix if you want send some photos of what you’ve done so far. maybe it will jog my memory.
Hi Liz, A worn MS-264 cam could be ground flat and should be fine with additional shims. I’ve used leads ripped lengthwise with a carpet knife and a short piece on the pinned and screwed end. But chipboard works used as well. The flat side of the cam needs to be parallel to the form roller rack. I imagine that a larger diameter bearing would help but seems unnecessary if the other components are to spec. I’ll nudge Tony.
Hi Tony, (and Paul if you’re reading!), I realize this post is a couple years old… but how did you end up resolving this issue? It also occurred to me that if that part were a bit larger it would solve the problem too. I’ve tried new clutch pins, then a new clutch plate, and the gears are still not quite disengaging. Now I’m wondering if it’s the MS-264 cam, which also seems worn. The shims I’ve put in only increase its width on one end, but I cannot add shims behind the other end of the cam where it’s held in place with a pin and screw. Thanks for any suggestions!
Tony, I misread the photo with the clutch plate. Glad to know that wear to it isn’t a factor. Clutch pins should be 1.5″ long. I just emailed you about them.
Paul, Clutch plate has been brazed. perfectly flat and smooth.
It could be the clutch pins. do you know what the overall length should be on these? like what is the factory spec on them?
I don’t think I have any in my box of parts, is this something you have Paul? and How much for 2?

The bearing looks to be the correct diameter. (The circumference is crowned.)
The shims also appear to be the OEM standard amount. You can add more until you replace the MR-110 Clutch Pins, which should be rounded.
I can see that the clutch plate has divots from the pins but can be brazed.
