Got a bad squeal on the SP-15. Can’t figure out where the noise is coming from. Suspect that the back roller core is defective and the bearer is not holding it correctly. I think we need a new roller/core. Anyway, in printing the oscillating roller squeals badly. Just started doing this today. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Dan may be closer than my suggestion.
Are the roller end screws chewing into the blocks? Vandercook used Nyliners with a flange only on one side on the SP-15. It is better to use a pair of Nyliners so you can have a flange on the inside and the outside to protect from metal on metal contact. This will protect your cores, blocks and end screws.

A video may help. Could the sound be coming from the rider? A dab of Vaseline on the bronze journals might do.
